The location question provides a quick, visual, and accurate way to select a location. With the location question, you can enter an address, which then brings up an interactive map. You can search for an exact location or navigate around the map and place a marker. The map helps you pinpoint an exact location, which is useful if the full address is unknown or if you want to mark a precise spot.
When a respondent opens the location question, a pop-up will appear asking for permission to access the location. By granting this permission, the map can display the current location more accurately, making it easier to find the desired place. It is therefore recommended to include a description in the location question that explains the purpose of the pop-up window and the action expected from the respondent: allowing location access.

Adjusting Excel file for correct display of coordinates
In the Dutch version of Excel, coordinates are sometimes imported incorrectly, because Excel interprets dots and commas differently than the CSV file.
Solution 1: Adjust regional settings
Go in Excel to:
File → Options and settings → Options → Regional settings → Country/Region
Set this to English. The data will then be displayed correctly.
Solution 2: Use the import wizard
When opening a CSV file, you can use the import wizard.
- In step 3, go to 'Advanced'
- Set the decimal separator to
.(dot) - Set the thousand separator to
,(comma)
After this, the file will be imported correctly.
