Retrieve respondent's device information with the User Agent

With the variable 'User Agent' you can find out what kind of device, operating system and browser version the respondent is using. If you have the user agent enabled an extra column is added in the result file. This column becomes filled with for example:

Android 10 Generic Smartphone Chrome Mobile 106.0.0

Create User Agent

1. Go to 'Questions' and 'Variables' in the menu.
2. Click on 'Add variable'. Name the variable 'User agent'. Click 'Save'. 
3. Click on 'Add variable rule'. Select 'User Agent'. At the filling method choose 'UserAgent'. 
4. Indicate when you want to retrieve the User Agent at 'Time of filling'. You can choose from a specific question number or after the start of the survey. 
5. Click 'Save'. The User Agent has now been created.

Filter mobile users

You can filter on mobile by including 'Mobi' in the condition contains. So distinguish mobile from desktop users. See more information about creating a condition.
